September 2014: Performances at Ranelagh Arts Festival

SEPTEMBER 14

Good evening folks,

It must be The Second Coming - I arrived home this evening to the front steps of the house being power-hosed!! Either that or ... it's Ranelagh Arts Festival time of year AGAIN!

There's a great festival in full swing right now and runs from the 12th - 28th September. Please see www.ranelagharts.org for details of a host of exciting events from art, literary, music, drama, film, kids workshops, comedy, to walking- cycling tours ...and a dog show!. With the Arts Centre's Urban Greening project seeing plants and flowers sprouting out of the most unlikely places (a baby's pink high chair!) there really is something for everyone.

I'm delighted to be presenting La Vie L'Amour, Emilie Sings Piaf in the Wild Goose Grill next Sunday 21st @ 8pm. I had sung Piaf in Chicago but hadn't gone near the repertoire for 10 years, resuscitating and rediscovering it again, as a special once off concert in Birchalls for Ranelagh Arts Festival last year. Well, this once-off show grew legs .. and took my pianist and I up and down to Belfast a few times, most recently a 2 night run in Bert's Jazz Bar.

So now, very specially for Ranelagh Arts Festival and for the Wild Goose Grill where I've had a residency the past year and a half, we will do the show as a full quartet, with Belfast pianist, Scott Flanagan, my long-time bassist, Dave Fleming, and drummer Des Lacey.

Do join us for glass of wine or supper! Booking is advised. Please phone the Wild Goose Grill directly on: 01 4912377

The festival closes Sunday 28th with Family Day with a Brazilian flavour at which I'll be singing with my Brazilian band Poco Azul, sway and samba to the evocative melodies and grooves from Brazil: Garota de Ipanema, Madalena & many more.

Take care of yourselves and each other and I hope to see you soon!

Best wishes,

Emilie
