June 2014: Announcing Jazz on a Summer's Day, NCH, & Emilie Sings Piaf at Bert's Jazzbar

JUNE 17: Announcing Lunchtime Concert, August @ NCH, Friday's Jazz @ Wild Goose Grill, Emilie Sings Piaf @ Bert's Jazz Bar, Belfast

Good evening folks!

Well I don't know about you all but despite all the beautiful weather, my magic orchid blooming again, only a suggestion of its straggly straw recent awkwardness behind it; and the landlord splashing out on a new washing machine housed in flying trick shop like shed (for those who remember Forty Coats' Flying Trick Shop from the 80s !!)

.....despite all these DESPITES, the world can never the less seem a tired sort of repetitious place ..... this morning, I came across these lines of Robert Lowell's and the world was new again ......

I know that objects and eyesight vary greatly

in singleness and sharpness, but the iron

heart's vodka is the sky

under northern lights.

And I've started listening to the roughs from the studio after our first recording date of the Alec Wilder project ...... the second album is always an easier than the first .... right?????!!
