Happy International Women's Day, Spring Concert, March 12 & Audio Described Tour at the RHA
Good evening all,
First of all to all Happy International Women's Evening ! Thank you to all the women out there who support me and my musical journey. I'm very grateful to you. As i am to all the creative, inspiring, kind, curious and supportive women in my life. You are so many, starting with my Mom, sister, aunts to all my artist colleagues and friends, and all the women I have met in my audiences over the years.(Welcome to the women I met after my Billie Tribute concert in Galway last week!) Thank you. Women have come a long way in the last century thanks to the courage of those who came before us and, for the most part!, humanity has grown in understanding, respect and kindness, and the best act of gratitude is to keep making a positive difference.
It's certainly being a tricky spring ... but the daffodils are out and the days are getting longer and there are beautiful bursts of sunshine these days..... those daffodils and the budding leaves on the trees are doing their best to inspire us to have a positive mental attitude - which is a great immune booster! Nature is so wonderfully practical! We'll be doing our best too, in Kilkenny on Thursday, you can catch:
Emilie Conway Trio with Johnny Taylor and Damian Evans: Event page here : You Must Believe in Spring
From our musical programme that celebrates Spring. new, old, classics and originals!
9pm, The Sofa Sessions at Billy Byrnes, Kilkenny.
Also coming up is another tour for which I'm doing the audio description at the RHA. Info here : Neil Carroll: In Pursuit of the Brocken Spectre So if you know anyone who is visually impaired and curious about art, this will be of interest to them. March 26 and 28.
if you'd like to hear more of me, I gave an interview with Linley Hamilton on Jazz World on BBC Radio Ulster on February 1, which is now up on my home page: www/emilieconway.ie.
Warm spring wishes to you all,
Emilie
