DECEMBER 5
Hello ho ho folks!
Awh janey! here we go! Can't believe it! Who can and how could one be ready? But the Christmas program will run with or without one and irrespective of how many other programs one has running! Lots of tiger balm for the temples, brussel sprouts and hot whiskey for the dispirited!
So, events of the season:
Saturday 7th December, 5pm:
RANELAGH CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING by the Lord Mayor, Oisin Quinn
@ Ranelagh Triangle (outdoors beside the Centra)
Featuring: Emilie Conway & Christmas Jazz Combo
Independent Theatre Workshop
Gaelscoil Lios na nOg Choir
Santa & his One Horse Open Sleigh!!
I sang at this last year and experienced the most heartwarming moments of the year when the little ones started dancing and joining in on our songs, not to mention the joy on their faces when Santa arrived in a sleigh! Truly a lovely family event and it lasts just over an hour so you don't have to worry about waiting too long in the "oh the weather outside is frightful" cold!
Sundays 15th, 22nd & 29th 12 - 3pm
Shelbourne Christmas Jazz Brunch
I'm singing with Michael Behan, guitar; Andrew Csibi, bass & Kevin Brady, drums.
Do pop in if you're in the 'hood!
Thursday 19th 9:30pm
Westin Hotel
I'm singing with Phil Ware, piano; Andrew Csibi, bass & Kevin Brady, drums
And we had a lovely gig in Teatro, Belfast and we are looking at dates again in January. A total gem of a place, created by Fleur & Kryon Bourke, both artists & musicians who, after all their years on the scene, dreamed of designing their own restaurant as a place where musicians would enjoy performing in to an appreciative listening clientel. So the interior design is by Fleur, the piano is under a canape, which Kyron is apt to play without the drop of a hat, their paintings hang on the walls and there's a good sound system! It's a special spot!
Gosh, well if this is it before Christmas and it just might be - wishing you all
A VERY HAPPY JOYFUL & PEACEFUL CHRISTMAS
Thank you for all your support of my musicians and I. It's a gift to share our music with you and we are very very grateful to you for all your warmth and enthusiasm.
Take care of yourselves and each other and hope to see you over the Christmas!
