Inspired by the famous 'Jazz on a Summer's Day,' film of the 1958 Newport which weaves stellar performances by jazz greats like Anita O’Day, Louis Armstrong, and Thelonious Monk with images of water, yachts, sun hats, an attentive audience (eating ice-creams!) and quieter, more intimate rehearsal moments, Emilie Conway with Johnny Taylor(piano), and Barry Donohue (double bass) bring you their "Jazz on a Summer's Day!"
A programme of music that plays the lightness and brightness of summer, in the sparkle of some well known standards and in the twinkle of hidden gems: Tea for Two, Sweet Georgia Brown, The Summer Knows, Summer Samba and more!

“Her own vocalese to Coltrane’s solo demonstrating her abilities to their fullest, flitting through the lyrics at a tempo most rappers would be envious of, while maintaining a bouncing melody and clarity of diction throughout.” - GoldenPlec
