Jazz: A philosophy of the Spiritual

“A musician is a philosopher and a scientist and he uses the science of music to project the particular philosophy he subscribes to. Our music must be melodic and the songs universal, and that’s about equality.”

- Lester Young

“Splendid.” - The Sunday Independent

“Her own vocalese to Coltrane’s solo demonstrating her abilities to their fullest, flitting through the lyrics at a tempo most rappers would be envious of, while maintaining a bouncing melody and clarity of diction throughout.” - GoldenPlec

Hallelujah - Emilie Conway & Johnny Taylor

I recorded this song for a dear friend and inspiration, Brian Duggan, and his family. This recording was kindly supported by the Duggan family. I played around with some images and made a video for it! I hope you like it!

Emilie Sings on an Episode 18 of the Children’s Series
Maddie & Triggs

It’s out: episode 18 The Wind on Maddie + Triggs. My first time to sing on a children’s TV show available on RTÉ and BBC!

Such a delight to work with Turnip & Duck and all on Maddie + Triggs. A show all about the adventures of a little girl who has a visual impairment and her dog. Also delighted to be a part of a show that tells this story - as I was once that little girl enchanted by sound and music and adventure. but back then I did not see myself and my experiences represented in any children’s shows. I’m so glad times have changed &

I’m proud that this Irish creative team are leading innovation and inclusion with the amazing young actress Bonnie O’Meara, who is visually impaired as Maddie.
